Russell Dominates Rain-Hit FP1 as Perez Crashes in Hungarian GP

George Russell topped the first practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix after a crash by Sergio Perez and changing weather conditions disrupted the session. Perez crashed his Red Bull on his first timed lap, causing a red flag and damaging his car. Rain then started to fall, leading to a lull in action. Valtteri Bottas set the first timed lap in wet conditions, but Russell eventually took the top spot ahead of Oscar Piastri. Lance Stroll, Lando Norris, and Fernando Alonso completed the top five.
