At least eight people have died and over 200,000 households are without power as tornadoes and storms hit parts of Indiana, Arkansas, and Illinois. More than 60 tornado reports were recorded by the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center. Search and rescue teams are waiting for daylight to resume operations in the affected areas. The Storm Prediction Center has warned of more bad weather on Saturday, with wind, hail, and a few tornadoes possible. Last week, tornadoes ripped through Mississippi and northern Alabama, killing at least 25 people. President Biden has authorized more access to federal resources for recovery efforts.
