Typhoon Doksuri Forces Taiwan to Cancel Military Drills

Taiwan has cancelled parts of its largest military drills as it prepares for Typhoon Doksuri, which is expected to be the strongest typhoon to hit the island in four years. The annual Han Kuang drills, designed to test Taiwan's defense against a potential attack from China, have been disrupted. The typhoon, with winds of 240km/h (149mph), is heading towards the waters between Taiwan and the Philippines. Taiwan is projected to experience the impact of the super storm on Wednesday and Thursday, with warnings issued for strong winds and heavy rains. In the Philippines, schools and offices have closed, and coastal communities have been ordered to evacuate.
