Controversy Surrounds VP Harris' Meeting with Expelled Tennessee Democrats Instead of Mass Shooting Victims

Vice President Kamala Harris faced criticism from conservatives for visiting Tennessee to meet with Democratic lawmakers expelled for protesting in favor of gun control, but not visiting the victims and families of the mass shooting that sparked the demonstration. Harris met with ousted Democratic Reps. Justin Jones and Rep. Justin Pearson, as well as Rep. Gloria Johnson, who avoided expulsion by just one vote, and advocates. During her visit, Harris also delivered a fiery speech at the Fisk University chapel, in which she condemned Tennessee Republicans for stifling free speech by removing their opponents from the legislature.
