Expelled Democrat Justin Jones reinstated by Nashville council.

The Nashville governing council has unanimously voted to reinstate expelled Black lawmaker Justin Jones to the Tennessee state legislature. Jones and fellow Democratic lawmaker Justin Pearson were expelled by the Republican majority state lawmakers for leading protests in the chamber demanding gun control after a mass shooting in an elementary school in the city. Jones' appointment is on an interim basis, and special elections for the seats will take place in the coming months.
