"Fact check: Jim Jordan's false claims and AG Garland's sparring with GOP dominate House hearing"

During a hearing on the handling of federal cases against former President Donald Trump and Hunter Biden, Rep. Jim Jordan made false claims about Trump's compliance with the Justice Department's requests and Hunter Biden's qualifications for the board of Burisma Holdings. Jordan falsely stated that Trump did everything the Justice Department asked him to do, when in fact, Trump did not fully comply with a grand jury subpoena and engaged in acts of obstruction. Additionally, Jordan claimed that Hunter Biden admitted he was unqualified for the Burisma board, but Hunter Biden actually defended his qualifications in a 2019 interview. Rep. Thomas Massie also made inaccurate statements about the sentencing of January 6 rioters, and Rep. Chip Roy revived a debunked claim about a memo from Attorney General Merrick Garland, falsely accusing Garland of labeling a parent as a domestic terrorist.
