House GOP Groups Secure Short-Term Funding Deal, Avert Government Shutdown

House Republicans have reached an agreement on a short-term government funding bill, proposing a one-month continuing resolution that would fund the government through October 31. The bill includes an 8% funding cut to domestic agencies, except for Veteran Affairs and the Pentagon, as well as components of border security legislation. However, it does not include Ukraine aid or disaster relief and is unlikely to pass in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
