Judge Denies Navarro's Executive Privilege Claim in Contempt Trial

Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro will face trial for criminal contempt of Congress after a judge ruled that he failed to provide evidence of a formal assertion of executive privilege by former President Donald Trump. Navarro defied subpoenas issued by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The judge stated that Navarro's claim of speaking to Trump, where Trump allegedly invoked executive privilege, lacked specific evidence. The trial is set to begin on September 5th.
