NYC Mayor Adams blames Biden's migrant policies for city's destruction.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams blamed the migrant crisis for holding back the city's economic recovery, stating that the city would have witnessed one of the greatest fiscal turnarounds in its history if the $4.2 billion spent on the migrant crisis had been used elsewhere. Adams has been increasingly frustrated with the lack of financial assistance from the Biden administration to help care for the asylum seekers. He traveled to Washington to plead for federal aid to tackle the deepening emergency. Adams held a series of meetings with senior Biden administration officials behind closed doors, including Drug Enforcement Administration head Anne Milgram, Department of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and Federal Emergency Management Agency chief Deanne Criswell.
