Senate Introduces Bipartisan Bill to Avert Government Shutdown

Senate leaders have introduced a bipartisan bill to fund the government until November 17, in order to avoid a shutdown. The bill includes $6 billion in aid to Ukraine, $6 billion in emergency disaster relief funding for FEMA, and provisions to prevent a lapse in FAA authorities and a pay cut for federal firefighters. The Senate will vote on the bill, but it remains uncertain if it will pass in time and if the Republican-led House will approve it.
