NPR Cuts Ties with Elon Musk on Twitter.

National Public Radio (NPR) has announced it will no longer be active on Twitter after the social media platform labelled its account as "government-funded media", a term NPR says is misleading. Twitter later changed the label to "state-affiliated media", but NPR still believes it undermines its credibility. The Public Broadcasting Service has also stopped tweeting from its main account, saying Twitter's label leaves the inaccurate impression that PBS is wholly funded by the federal government. Elon Musk, who owns Twitter, has expressed disdain for professional journalists and wants to elevate the views and expertise of the "average citizen".
