Angels Dump Salary, Place Lucas Giolito and Others on Waivers

The Los Angeles Angels have placed Lucas Giolito, Matt Moore, Reynaldo López, Hunter Renfroe, and Randal Grichuk on waivers in an effort to clear salary and get under the luxury-tax threshold. The Angels acquired Giolito, López, and Grichuk before the trade deadline but have struggled since then, falling out of playoff contention. The players can be claimed by other teams as early as Thursday, with waiver-claim priority based on reverse winning percentage.
