Michigan State Set to Terminate Coach Mel Tucker Amid Sexual Harassment Probe

Michigan State University has informed football coach Mel Tucker that it intends to terminate his contract for cause following a sexual harassment allegation. Tucker has seven days to respond and present reasons why he should not be terminated. The university stated that the ongoing Office for Civil Rights case will continue. Tucker is accused of sexually harassing activist Brenda Tracy during a phone call last year. A hearing is scheduled for October to determine if Tucker violated MSU's sexual harassment and exploitation policy. If fired, the university would not have to pay Tucker the remaining amount of his $95 million, 10-year contract.
