Red Sox land Adley Rutschman in blockbuster deadline deal
TL;DR
Boston and Baltimore completed a blockbuster MLB trade, sending Anthony Eyanson, Kyson Witherspoon, Enddy Azocar and Carlos Narváez to acquire Adley Rutschman and Jake Rogers from the Orioles. Rutschman, currently on the injured list with left wrist inflammation, is expected to begin a minor-league rehab soon and would bolster Boston behind the plate with control through 2027; Baltimore clears room for Samuel Basallo, though surrendering a top pitching prospect could have long-term repercussions.
