Amazon Successfully Launches Project Kuiper Satellites into Orbit

Amazon has successfully launched two prototype satellites as part of its Project Kuiper initiative, which aims to create a megaconstellation of over 3,200 satellites to provide internet service from space. The satellites were launched on an Atlas V rocket and will orbit 311 miles above the Earth's surface, beaming internet connections to ground antennas. This move puts Amazon ahead of Jeff Bezos' rocket company, Blue Origin, which has yet to launch anything into orbit. The launch is seen as a competition against SpaceX's Starlink and other space-based internet services.
