Apple Watch Series 12 Debuts with S11 Chip, Enhanced Health Features and Ceramic Finishes

Apple unveiled the Watch Series 12, powered by an S11 chip, with a redesigned health sensing system (larger ECG electrode area, ring-shaped photodiodes, brighter green LEDs) for more accurate heart-rate monitoring and new Readiness and Health features. The Health app is redesigned with personalized guidance, Health Age, and a Longevity tab. A VO2 max test uses the iPhone camera, and Audio Intelligence features like Sound Recognition, Live Rewind transcripts, and Siri Recap run on the S11. Finishes include aluminum with Ceramic Shield, titanium, and ceramic options. Pricing starts at $399 with preorder today and availability on Sept 18; US users can access a Quest blood panel for $119.
