Apple's Foldable iPhone Duo Debuts as a Premium, Pricey New Form Factor

Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo, a passport-style foldable with a 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer screen, marketed as the thinnest open iPhone yet. It runs a new A20 Pro chip built on 2nm with higher memory bandwidth, pairs a 48MP Fusion main camera with a 48MP Fusion ultra-wide, and supports the USB-C Apple Pencil. The device uses two batteries for up to about 31 hours of inner display video and 44 hours on the outer display, and charges from 0 to 50% in roughly 20 minutes. It runs an adapted iOS 27 for foldable use and will be available for preorder on Oct. 16 with a Oct. 23 release, priced from $1,999 for 256GB in Night Sky or Star White plus Folio/Case accessories.
