Elon Musk Considers Putting X/Twitter Behind Paywall

Elon Musk, CEO of X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the company is considering implementing a small monthly payment for the use of the X system as a way to combat bots on the platform. Musk believes that charging users a small amount of money would make it more costly for individuals to create large numbers of bots. This move follows Musk's previous efforts to monetize X, including the introduction of X Blue, a premium service, and the paywalling of certain features. X has been seeking additional revenue streams since before Musk's acquisition, as the company reported a $344 million loss in its last quarterly earnings report.
