Google Assistant Gets AI Makeover to Supercharge Products

Google is reorganizing its Assistant unit to incorporate generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology and "supercharge" its voice-powered software. The reorganization will involve a small number of layoffs, with affected employees given 60 days to find other positions within Google.
