Netflix Expands Gaming Offerings with Grand Theft Auto Licensing and Cloud Streaming

Netflix is reportedly planning to expand its gaming offerings by introducing "higher-end" titles to its subscription catalogue. The company has had discussions about licensing a Grand Theft Auto game as part of its gaming ambitions. Netflix believes that offering more significant gaming options will attract and retain subscribers. While the number of Netflix game downloads has increased, only a small percentage of subscribers play games daily, and the current process of downloading mobile games is causing a drop-off in engagement. Netflix is already trialling game streaming technology and a Game Controller app to make accessing games more seamless. The company is aware of the challenges faced by Google's failed Stadia but is still pursuing its gaming expansion plans.
