AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Google Bard shouldn’t be considered search engines. They are large language models (LLMs) trained on billions or even trillions of points of data that generate results based on patterns of word association, often leading to inaccuracies and falsehoods. Microsoft and Google's marketing has associated these chatbots with search engines, but they are more like "crypto bros" clogging up social media with truthy-sounding statements that are often full of BS. These chatbots are fantastic tools for creative endeavors, but their information should not be taken at face value.
