"Death toll rises to 201 in Kenya starvation cult"

The death toll linked to a doomsday cult in Kenya has reached 201, with more than 600 people still missing. The cult's leader, Paul Mackenzie, is alleged to have ordered his followers to starve to death in order to meet Jesus. Mackenzie, his wife, and 16 other suspects have been arrested and will appear in court at the end of the month. Autopsies conducted on more than 100 bodies showed the victims died of starvation, strangulation, suffocation, and injuries sustained from blunt objects. Cults are common in Kenya, and police are questioning other religious leaders whose teachings are believed to be misleading and contrary to basic human rights.
