95-year-old woman tasered by Australian police in nursing home

An Australian police officer is being reviewed after using a Taser on a 95-year-old woman with dementia at a nursing home in New South Wales. The woman was holding a serrated-edge steak knife from the nursing home kitchen and did not drop it when asked by police. She sustained a head injury after being struck with the Taser and is in critical condition. The officer who used the Taser has been moved to nonoperational duties during an internal investigation. NSW police have previously faced accusations of excessive force.
