Amber Heard's Dog Case: Australian Prosecutors Clear Charges

Australian prosecutors have dropped potential criminal charges against actor Amber Heard over allegations that she lied to a court about smuggling her dogs into Australia in 2015. The charges were dropped after discrepancies were found between her testimony in an Australian court in 2016 and her testimony in a London court in 2020 during Johnny Depp's libel case against The Sun newspaper. Heard had pleaded guilty in 2016 to providing a false immigration document, but more serious charges of illegal dog importation were dropped. The dogs were eventually returned to the United States, and Heard now owns them following her divorce from Depp in 2017.
