Brazilian Police Foil Multiple Gang Plots to Target Officials and Public Servants

Brazilian federal police have foiled a gang plot to assassinate and kidnap public officials, including former judge Sérgio Moro, who presided over the Carwash bribery and money laundering investigation. The gang had rented houses near Moro's home and office and erected walls to create rooms for stowing hostages. The suspects' targets also included a public prosecutor in Sao Paulo state's organized crime unit. The police operation involved 120 agents carrying out 24 search and seizure warrants and 11 arrest warrants in several states.
