Complicit Widow: Life Sentence for Luring Victims in French Serial Killer Case

Monique Olivier, the widow of French serial killer Michel Fourniret, has been found guilty of aiding her husband in the rape and murder of two young women and the disappearance of a 9-year-old girl. She was sentenced to life in prison for her crimes. Olivier confessed to befriending young women as "bait" for her husband, describing herself as "the dog that must obey." Fourniret, known as the "Ogre of the Ardennes," was convicted of murdering eight girls and young women and confessed to 11 murders, with authorities suspecting he may have killed more than 20 victims.
