Surviving refugees arrested after shipwreck tragedy near Greece.

Nine survivors from the refugee ship that sank off the coast of Greece have been arrested on suspicion of belonging to the smuggling ring that arranged the voyage. The suspects were all Egyptian nationals, including the captain of the overloaded vessel. The sinking left at least 78 people dead, and fears have grown that the final toll could eventually run into the hundreds. The charge of human trafficking in Greece carries up to 20 years in prison, and the profits from this enterprise are estimated to be worth in excess of $3-3.5m.
