"Renaissance Frescoes Meet Modern Design in Italian Home"

Designer Paola Moretti was commissioned to reimagine a 5,000-square-foot second-floor apartment in the Palazzo Martinengo della Motella, a 15th-century building in Brescia, Italy. Moretti's challenge was to balance the grand proportions and lavish wall decorations with her own minimalist style and the owners' diverse collection of contemporary art. She made minimal interventions to the existing architecture but took advantage of a clean slate where centuries-old elements had been destroyed. The result is a journey through the past, present, and future, with a mix of Renaissance frescoes and contemporary design.
