Gaza's Unaddressed Diseases Pose Greater Threat than Bombings, WHO Warns

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that if the health system in Gaza is not restored, untreated diseases could end up killing more people than bombings. Diarrhea and respiratory infections are widespread among children in overcrowded UN facilities, and patients with chronic illnesses like cancer are not receiving any treatment. The truce between Israel and Hamas has entered its fifth day, with additional hostage releases being negotiated. The UN estimates that over 1.8 million people in Gaza have been displaced, and only a few hospitals are partially operational. The WHO is calling for urgent action to prevent a further deterioration of the healthcare situation in Gaza.
