Al Jazeera Seeks ICC Investigation into Journalist Killings and IDF Errors

Al Jazeera Media Network plans to refer the killing of its cameraman, Samer Abudaqa, to the International Criminal Court (ICC) after he was killed in a drone attack while reporting on the bombing of a school in southern Gaza Strip. The network has instructed its legal team to urgently submit the case to the court in The Hague. Al Jazeera had previously requested the ICC to investigate the shooting of another journalist in May 2022, but no further steps have been taken. The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 64 journalists and media workers, prompting calls for an independent investigation.
