Evacuation of Trapped Thais from Myanmar Amid Clashes

Over 200 Thai nationals trapped in northern Myanmar due to clashes between soldiers and armed ethnic-minority groups are being evacuated and flown back to Thailand. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with Myanmar authorities to rescue the group, which includes an undisclosed number of Filipinos and Singaporeans. The evacuees will enter China and then fly to Bangkok, where they will undergo screening for human trafficking and criminal records. This evacuation comes as Myanmar's military battles armed resistance from ethnic-minority groups and pro-democracy fighters, causing displacement and disruption in the region.
