Houthi Attacks on Red Sea Shipping Pose Threat to Global Trade

Danish shipping company Maersk reported that one of its vessels, the Maersk Gibraltar, was targeted by a missile near the entrance of the Red Sea, following recent attacks on ships in the region. The incident occurred near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the crew and ship are safe. Maersk expressed concern over the attacks, stating that they put seafarer lives at risk and are unsustainable for global trade. Iran warned that a proposed U.S.-backed task force to protect ships in the Red Sea would cause "extraordinary problems" in the region.
