A British doctor, Abdulrahman, who was shot in Sudan during the ongoing conflict, is appealing to the UK government for help in evacuating his frail 86-year-old mother, who has no visa to come to the UK. The UK authorities have started airlifting British nationals out of Sudan, but Abdulrahman cannot leave without his mother. He believes he was mistaken for a government official by militiamen belonging to the Rapid Support Forces. His daughter, also a doctor, has appealed to the government to help her father and grandmother, saying they are hoping the UK government can demonstrate some compassion and facilitate her safe passage to the UK temporarily.
