Quebec Engulfed in Flames

More than 150 wildfires are active in Quebec, Canada, prompting evacuations of over 14,000 people and air quality warnings across Quebec, Ontario, and parts of the US Midwest. The fire season started unusually early this year due to high temperatures and dry conditions, with 160,000 hectares already burned compared to an average of 247 hectares by June 5. The fires were ignited by lightning strikes and exacerbated by strong winds and smoke blowing down to the US.
