A volcano in southwestern Iceland erupted for the third time since December, spewing jets of lava into the sky and triggering the evacuation of the Blue Lagoon spa and the coastal town of Grindavik. The eruption, which began at about 1 a.m. ET, is located about 2½ miles northeast of Grindavik and poses no immediate threat to the town or a major power plant in the area. The nearby Blue Lagoon spa was safely evacuated, and no disruption was reported to the main airport.
