Wildfires force massive evacuations in Western Canada.

Over 24,000 residents in Western Canada have been ordered to evacuate their homes due to 103 active wildfires in the province of Alberta, burning around 121,909 hectares. The province has seen an increase of 20 wildfires since Thursday, and at least 31 are out of control. Fourteen counties and communities have declared states of local emergency. A province-wide fire ban has been issued, and an off-highway vehicle restriction has been enforced. The government is prepared to use its emergency powers as needed, including declaring a provincial state of emergency.
