Biden predicts chaotic US-Mexico border as pandemic restrictions end.

President Biden admitted that the end of the pandemic-era Title 42 border policy will lead to a chaotic migrant surge at the US-Mexico border. The policy, which allowed for the swift deportation of migrants, ends on May 11 along with the Covid-19 public health emergency. The White House had previously argued that it needed time to prepare for the influx of migrants that would come with the end of Title 42. Already, 80,000 South American migrants are amassed in Guatemala and planning to head for the US-Mexico border, threatening to overwhelm US Customs and Border Protection agents. The Biden administration has announced the deployment of 1,500 troops to the border for administrative tasks.
