Imran Khan's Supporters Clash with Police in Attempted Arrest

Riot police in Pakistan used water cannon and teargas to disperse supporters of former prime minister Imran Khan who had gathered outside his house to prevent his arrest. Khan has been campaigning for early elections and his return to office, but has been snarled in a series of legal cases. He has been summoned to court to answer accusations he did not declare gifts received during his time as prime minister, or the profit made from selling them. The security situation in Pakistan is also deteriorating with a spate of deadly attacks on police headquarters, linked to the Pakistan Taliban.
