Pakistan Faces Unrest and Accusations Amid Political Turmoil

Supporters of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan attacked the Lahore residence of current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, setting vehicles on fire and throwing petrol bombs inside the house. The mob also attacked the ruling PML-N Secretariat in Model Town and set fire to 14 government installations and 21 police vehicles in Punjab during the last two days. The situation in Lahore and several other cities of Punjab remained tense after the arrest of Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau in a land transfer corruption case, leading to violent clashes between his supporters and security forces that left at least seven people dead and nearly 300 injured across Pakistan.
