Sudan's Conflict Threatens Regional Stability and Global Impact.

The ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) could draw in neighbouring countries, particularly Ethiopia and Eritrea, if violence spreads to their borders. Ethiopia and Sudan have attempted to improve ties, while the RSF has reached out to Eritrea. The brewing tensions in the wider Horn of Africa risks intermingling with the fighting in Sudan and creating a wider conflict. The Amhara ethnic group, whose leading forces receive financial and military aid from Eritrea, could take advantage of the civil war in Sudan by launching an attack on the Sudanese army in el-Fashaga. Any participation from Eritrean troops could attract Tigrayan fighters, who are looking for revenge after the civil war in Tigray.
