Turkey's Election: A Dead Heat Between Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu.
A recent poll conducted by Al-Monitor/Premise Data shows that Turkey's upcoming presidential election on May 14 will be the closest in the country's electoral history, with President Erdogan and main opposition leader Kilicdaroglu tied at 45%. The majority of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the current political climate and believe that the economy and inflation are the country's most immediate challenge. Corruption and refugees were also significant concerns among voters. The youth appear to be the most reluctant to vote, with a big segment aged between 18-25 still undecided. The six-party opposition bloc led by Kilicdaroglu is pledging to end Erdogan's executive presidential system, while Erdogan and his ruling alliance stress the need for stability.
