Ukraine receives critical support from European allies for counter-offensive.

The White House is not planning to ask Congress for new Ukraine funding before the end of the fiscal year in September, despite concerns from some lawmakers and congressional staffers that the funds could run out by mid-summer. The administration believes it has the resources it needs through the end of the fiscal year, but officials anticipate having to ask Congress for more funding once the current batch runs out. Congress approved $36 billion in emergency supplemental funding for Ukraine in December, $2.3 billion of which remains available for Presidential Drawdown Authority and $4.0 billion for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.
