Google Removes Controversial 'Slavery Simulator' Game from Brazilian Play Store

A mobile phone game called "Slavery Simulator" that allowed players to buy and sell enslaved people and inflict torture on black characters has been removed from Google Play after being available since April. The game had no age classification and had been downloaded more than 1,000 times. Brazilians have denounced the game as racist and called for the developer and Google to be held accountable. Brazil's ministry for racial equality has contacted the developer and Google to work on measures to curb racist content online.
