Oxford mother dies by suicide after insulin injections to her children amid custody fight

An Oxford inquest found that a 49-year-old mother, amid a custody dispute with her ex-husband, injected insulin into her three children to delay jet lag; one child died and another survived. She later died from a neuroglycopenic brain injury, ruled a suicide. The court heard she had anxiety/depression, was seeing a psychotherapist, and that access to the children and the ongoing custody case were factors in her actions. Insulin was traced to Malaysia, with purchases dating back to August, and neighbours described a delay in discovery after she barred the children from alerting others.
