Australian man charged in Pattaya murder after disturbing texts surface

Australian man Simon Peter Carman, 45, has been charged with murder, concealing/moving a body and abducting a minor after 17-year-old Thai sex worker Tunchanok Donhomla was found dead and stuffed in a suitcase in Pattaya. Police say she was killed following a dispute over pay; Carman allegedly hid her body in his bathroom for about 18 hours while he shopped and did laundry, then disposed of the body in a large suitcase dumped near railway tracks. A sex worker who knew Carman reportedly exchanged disturbing texts with him during the period; Carman claims the killing was self-defense. He was arrested at Bangkok's international airport before boarding a flight to Perth. Donhomla weighed about 88 pounds and stood roughly five feet tall; tattoos matched her photos. Her family has demanded the maximum penalty.
