Dubai nab ends years-long hunt for Irish cartel boss Kinahan

An international fugitive, Daniel Kinahan, the alleged head of Ireland’s Kinahan cartel, was arrested in Dubai in a covert Ireland–UAE operation, ending a years-long manhunt. The 48-year-old fled Ireland for Spain before relocating to the UAE and now faces Irish-organized crime charges linked to the Kinahan–Hutch feud that has left 18 people dead since 2015. The cartel, described as a major force in Europe’s cocaine trade, was also connected to boxing via MTK Global, and the case follows a U.S. Treasury reward offer of up to $5 million for information leading to his arrest or the cartel’s destruction.
