Ukraine bets on its own 'Equalizer' glide bomb to curb foreign arm dependence

Ukraine is purchasing a homegrown glide bomb named the Equalizer, developed by DG Industry with Brave1 support, to extend its strike reach from MiG-29/Su-27–family fighters and reduce reliance on U.S. and European munitions. The bomb adds wings and guidance to conventional bombs and has finished testing; Ukraine says about 90% of its parts come from Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S., though chips are sourced abroad. Deployment timing is unclear, and while it could eventually be used with donated F-16s and Mirage jets after certification, Kyiv still seeks broader air-defense support as Russia intensifies strikes.
