Anderson Faces GO! Evacuation as Star Fire Expands

Anderson residents are under a GO! evacuation due to the Star Fire (#234). Shelters are available at Tri-Valley School in Healy ( Denali Borough: 907-378-7985). The fire was renamed to Star Fire to avoid confusion with a prior blaze and was estimated near 700 acres late tonight, with air assets and ground crews (Pioneer Peak Hotshots, Fairbanks 1 Crew, water scoopers, and retardant tankers) actively engaged; evac maps and updates are at denaliborough.org/fire.
