"Orthodox Christmas Celebrations Around the World"

Hundreds of parishioners at an Ethiopian cathedral in Northeast Washington celebrated Orthodox Christmas with an overnight service and Mass, marking the birth of Jesus based on the Julian calendar. The festive event included chanting, drumming, and a 45-day fast ending feast, bringing together the Ethiopian community in D.C. to celebrate the birth of Christ in a traditional and joyous manner.
