Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio hit with DUI fine and license suspension

Real Madrid center-back Raúl Asencio was found guilty of drunk driving in Gran Canaria after a checkpoint recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.90 mg/L (nearly four times the limit). He was convicted in an expedited trial, fined €14,400 and had his driver’s license suspended for eight months. At the time of the incident he was injured and Real Madrid had explored a loan, but he remains with the club.
